My Life here so Far

Friday, September 15, 2006

Well, its been slightly over a month since we've arrived, and by and large we've settled in here pretty well, other than some hiccups here and there. Our new place is pretty neat too, a block of apartments next to a major road leading to Melbourne city (10-15 min trip) yet our unit is farthest from the road in our block. Hot water supply and pressure can be a bit schizophrenic at times (as Angie has mentioned in a previous post) but its just a matter of taking it in your stride I suppose.

Next thing coming up is to purchase a car. We're still undecided on that one, currently a toss-up between a Hyundai Getz or the Honda Jazz. No doubt the Japanese model is a better car but its also about A$4000 more than the Korean. Hmmmm...decisions decisions...

To round up, the variety of bird life here is pretty amazing! Compared to the mynahs, crows, sparrows and pigeons we commonly see back home (unless you're prepared to yomp to the farthest reaches of Singapore), here in suburban Melbourne there's so much more bird life to see! Look out for photos in the coming weeks (as and when I can go bird-spotting) - DSM
