Among the things to let you know spring is here is when:

I'll be back in the Rat Race again
All the doors I closed one time will open up again
I'll be back in the Rat Race again
All the eyes that watched me once will smile and take me in
(With profuse apologies to Steve Winwood)
Well after 2 months of taking it easy in my (ex)-job, I have rejoined the rat race again. Have joined the company who made me an offer for the post of a Technical Librarian a few weeks ago. 2 days into the job, and so far so good. Place seems nice enough, even a couple of ex-Singaporeans (2 brothers) who are working as technicians here. Mostly handling Technical Data for the overhaul section of the company, working mainly on RAAF aircraft such as the F/A-18, C-130, P-3, Seahawk and Caribous. 38-hour working week, with 4 full days and 1/2 day on Fridays. Pay's not too shabby either. Only drag is waking up at 0600 everyday and the 32km drive to Bayswater from Northcote. Oh well, can't have everything... - DSM

Said it before and will say it again. I only sympathise with the 33.4% who got this “First World Government” they did not vote for. Majulah Singapura. - DSM

today is a public holiday here in Melbourne - Melbourne Cup aka horse racing day...its quite a big thing here in Melbourne and people really dress for this occassion even if today's weather is 19 degrees...anyway its a good break from work and believe me, the weather here is really inviting to stay longer in bed..haha...oh by the way Melbourne is 3 hours ahead of Singapore now so it took me and Mike a while to get used to waking up 1 hour earlier as when we came over it was 2 hours difference. But on the hindsight, this means that we get to knock off 1 hour from work (in theory but not in reality...arrghh)
