A year on

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Its been a year since we came to Melbourne and there were things in our lives that we have to adapt to, leaving our families and friends back home to seek a better future in this foreign land. Well not that foreign since we have studied in Melbourne before and we love this city. The thought of starting all over again was daunting as we were not sure if we could secure jobs fast enough to build up our lives here but thank God everything went well(well almost all went well).

Mike managed to secure a job before moving on to a better one in his related field and I, on the other hand, had to struggle for a while before finally setting my foot in the industry that I wanted to work in. So now that we both have jobs and building a future, what's next? Kids? Well the plan is in the pipeline but we are in no hurry as yet. We are however looking at upgrading our place though. Sounds crazy? Well not exactly as looking at our current home, it can only accomodate just the 2 of us. We popped by the Home Expo over the weekend and came back with a bucketful of knowledge (well almost there but hey we did learn something) and for paying half price on the tickets which was a bargain. Well hopefully we can get something within our budget and also to source for schools around..well better to start now than later.

Another 4 months before we head back home for a 2 weeks break, can't wait for that to be here soon...miss all the yummy food back home! - DSA

Yesterday Singapore celebrated its 42nd birthday and so did my mum and sis...yep they share the same birthdates with Singapore...looks like August is a popular month for birthdays as there are 3 other family relatives who celebrated with them by having a buffet gathering...order a bag of flowers to surprise my mum and sis...hehe wish I could be there but at least I knew they had enjoyed their celebration yesterday...flowers nice? :) - DSA
