Majority shareholders

Friday, February 08, 2008

Finally! The Glenhuntly apartment that we *used* to own settled (i.e sale concluded) today, and we officially no longer own the place. No more being the faux "property tycoons" that one of our friends have labeled us due the the number of properties purportedly in our names. The upside of this is, of course, we'll be able to clear off a large part of the loan taken out for our current home. And with interest rates hovering around 9% over here currently, the less that's owed the bank, the better!

Hence, as I've told friends today, today is the day I can say
1) The bank is no longer the owner of our home
2) We're no longer just the tenants and,
3) We're now the majority shareholders of our home!

Happy days!
DSM
